Memorial services for Carmela “Millie” Cappello will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Terry Ivy officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Millie Cappello, age 93, of Quitman, Mississippi passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Anderson Regional Hospital.

Known by family and friends as “Millie”, or Nienie to her grandchildren, she was born in Sicily, Italy. She moved to New Jersey as an infant with her parents where she became an American citizen. She later married the love of her life, Nicholas Cappello. During their time together, they enjoyed travelling. While living in Meridian, Millie retired from Meridian Naval Air Station and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Meridian. They later moved to Quitman to be close to their daughter and her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Monay (Gary) Cranford; grandchildren, Jonathan (Amanda) Cranford, Patrick Cranford and Monica (Ryan) Scarbrough; great-grandchildren, Ansley Scarbrough, and twins, Sadie and Audrey Cranford, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nicholas Cappello; parents, Enrico and Beatrice Parrinello; brother, Paul Parrinello.
