Carol Joyce Scarborough

Graveside services for Mrs. Carol Joyce Scarborough will begin at 11:30 am Friday, December 18, 2020 at Hamrick Cemetery with the Reverend Virgil Walters officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Scarborough, 89, of Collinsville, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at her home surrounded by family.

Mrs. Carol was a longtime employee of Rush Hospital for over 20 years as a Pediatric Nurse. She loved giving special care and attention to children. She was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was the oldest living member of the Schamberville Community, where she resided most of her life. Above all else Carol enjoyed and found her joy in spending time with her family.

Mrs. Carol is survived by her children Diane Poole, Susan Huey, and Aaron Scarborough. Grandchildren Brandi Watson (Aaron), Belinda Hoffer (Kurt), Jennifer Everett (Blake), Erin Nicholson (Jamie), and Bethany Benson (John Mark); 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. One sister, Katherine Skinner as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mrs. Scarborough is preceded in death by her husband Aaron Lloyd Scarborough, Sr; sons-in-law Herbert Poole and Bill Huey; her parents Walter and Betty Scitzs; siblings Ivon Skinner, Mildred Keene, Walter Dee Scitzs, and Martha Riggins.

The family suggest memorials be made as donations to Macedonia Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
