Carolyn Jefferies Funeral services for Carolyn Jefferies will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Baptist Church, with Pastor Zachary Operton officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Carolyn Jefferies, daughter of the late Julian Jefferies, Sr. and Mamie Harris Jefferies, was born in Blacksburg, SC June 18, 1936. She attended the Little Hope Elementary School, in Blacksburg, SC. And later migrated to Far Rockaway, NY in 1945 with her parents, where she finished her schooling in Far Rockaway High School. After finishing school, she held various domestic jobs to support her children. In October, 2000 Carolyn relocated to Meridian, MS, where she later joined Prince of Peace Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Z.S. Operton, where she spent many hours volunteering in the community. She departed this life on Dec 31, 2014 at her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her children Lester Jefferies of New York, Sharman (Ronald) Brown, of Mississippi, Earl (Gwendolyn) Jefferies, of New York, William Jefferies of Mississippi, Alisa (Derrick) Burton, of Florida, Eric (Demitrius) Jefferies, of Mississippi, Jason (Shonda) Jefferies, of Mississippi, Hope (Eric) Boyd, of Mississippi, Charity Jefferies of New York; and a host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, relatives, friends and loved ones.
