Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Carolyn Shelton will begin at 11:30 on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Reynolds officiating. The family will receive guests from 10:00 until 11:15 prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will follow graveside rites at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Shelton, age 76, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at St. Dominic Hospital.
Carolyn was born in Meridian, MS on June 16, 1949. She graduated in 1967 from Meridian High School. Carolyn owned Carolyn's Frames and Things prior to managing the thrift stores at Hope Village and lastly Salvation Army. She met the love of her life, Ray M. Shelton, and they were married on February 16, 1991; together, they spent many happy years. Carolyn was a woman of faith. She attended Cotton Heights Free Will Baptist Church. She also enjoyed cross stitching, photography, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her loving husband, Ray M. Shelton; son, Benjy Baskin; grandchildren, Hunter Baskin (Tippy) and Dalton Baskin; great-grandchild, Jamie Baskin; one sister, Cathy Raley (Wayne); nephew, George Jackson (Christy) and their child, Gracie; special friend, Sue Davis; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Lavelle and Annie Bell Jackson and one brother, George Edward Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Benjy Baskin, Hunter Baskin, Dalton Baskin, Wayne Raley, Jason Raley, and George Jackson.
