Carrie (Jerry) Pittman Services for Jerry Pittman will be held Friday, September 13, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Carl White of Highland Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Pittman, age 83, of Meridian, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Bedford Care Center. Mrs. Pittman was a member of Highland Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she was active in Joy Sunday School Class. She received her nursing diploma from Matty Hersee School of Nursing in 1974 and received her bachelor's degree from William Carey College in 1978. Mrs. Pittman continued to complete her master's degree in nursing from The University of Mississippi in 1979. Survivors include her children, Cindy Dyess and husband, Bobby, of Bailey, Bo Pittman and wife, Terisa, of Meridian, Jami Pittman and wife, Laura, of Bartonville, TX; grandchildren, Dawson and Hallie Dyess, Jami and Ryan Pittman, Mallory and Brant Pittman; sister, Emma Jean Calfee, of Panama City, FL; numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend, Becky Ulmer, of Bay Springs, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Biffle O. Pittman, and her parents, James Norris and Clydie Mae Vann. The family request memorials be made to Highland Baptist Church in Meridian. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jami Pittman and Dawson Dyess; Chip Hunt, John Pearson, Duncan Chalk, Steve Womack and Michael Heard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brant Pittman, and Robert Entriken. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Bedford Care Center in Marion for their committed care to Mrs. Pittman.
