Funeral services for Mrs. Cassandra Fountain will begin at 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Beverly Henson officiating. Interment will follow at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Fountain, 66, of Meridian, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Anderson Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Fountain was employed by Kidney Care both in Meridian and at UMC for over 20 years. She was involved with youth sports for many years in the Meridian area with her youngest son, never missing a soccer, football or baseball game. Cassandra was an avid reader, who loved music and could often be seen at concerts with her family. She instilled her love of music into her entire family. In her younger years she enjoyed riding horses, motorcycles and dancing with her beloved husband Jeff. Mrs. Fountain loved animals and enjoyed nature and being outdoors. Above all else she fiercely loved her family, and in return they deeply adored her; she will forever be in their hearts and souls. Mrs. Fountain underwent numerous heart surgeries beginning at age seven and exceeded all medical expectations. Through this she embraced each day of life as a gift from God and never took it for granted.
Mrs. Fountain is survived by her loving husband of over 40 years, Jeff Fountain; devoted children, Stacey Allman, Bradley Fountain (Jackye), C. Jay Fountain, and grandson Steven Barber, Jr. (Nicole). Siblings, Sammy Young (Gail), Jerry Young (Camelia), Glenda McKee (Tommy) and sister-in-law Margaret Young; two special nieces, Jennifer Anglin and Jessica Cornett, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved 13 year old chihuahua, Amani.
Mrs. Fountain is preceded in death by her parents Rosser L. Young, Sr. and Jean H. Smith, and step father, Kenneth Smith. Brothers, Rosser “Bubba” L. Young Jr. and Terry Young as well as her mother and father-in-law, Juanice and Jeff D. Fountain.
The family requests memorials be made to The American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
Pallbearers will be Norman Young, Steven Barber, Jr., David Collins, Devin Collins, Chance Johnson and Brad Cornett.
