Cdr Paul M. John

The family of Commander John will hold a graveside memorial service at the Mississippi Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

CDR John, age 82, of Meridian passed away July 12, 2018 at Bedford Care Center of Marion.

CDR John was from Fayetteville, Arkansas. He joined the U.S. Navy in August of 1953, where he spent thirty-eight years in aircraft maintenance, retiring in August of 1992. Upon retirement, he continued his love in naval aviation by working in the contractor sector until his retirement in 2004.

Survivors include his brother, Charles John and wife, Pat of Arkansas; sister, Nancy Gooden and husband, Harold of Arkansas; special niece, Teresa Drake as well as other nieces and nephews; and his very special friend of twenty-two years, Kim Smith her husband, Ricky, and her two daughters, Amber and Ashley of Meridian.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard John; mother, Mary Elanor John; and his sister, Marge Harrison.
