Funeral services for Mrs. Celia Lackey will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 1:30 P.M. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Lackey, 89, of Toomsuba, MS went peacefully to be with the Lord she loved with all of her heart on Saturday, December 30, 2023. She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband of 63 years, Melvin Lackey, as well as her parents and 4 sisters.

Mrs. Lackey was an avid golfer, and very proud of the two holes in ones that she made. She carried in her purse a laminated copy of the newspaper article celebrating one of her two aces. She loved her church and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She traveled around the country and to England with her husband Melvin who was an Air Force veteran. Mrs. Lackey was a huge Atlanta Braves fan. All of her children and grandchildren knew that, when visiting Mom or Grandmother, during baseball season, the Braves were going to be on the TV!

Mrs. Lackey is survived by her two sons and their wives, Jeff and Edie Lackey and Alan and Tricia Lackey; grandchildren Brandon, Daniel, Jennifer, and Melissa, and great grandchildren Hannah Lackey, Zeke Lackey, JJ Lackey, and Lucy Lackey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
