Services for Charles Patrick McElroy will be held Thursday, December 19, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jack Giles officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Mississippi Veterans Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. McElroy, age 79, of Meridian, died Monday, December 16, 2013 at Infinity Hospice. He was Commander of VFW Post 79. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Bobbie McElroy; son, Tommy McElroy of Spokane, Washington; daughter, Cathy McElroy of California; four grandchildren; brother, Richard McElroy of Portland, Oregon; and two step-sons, Melton Huey of Manassas, Virginia and Steve Huey of Brookhaven. He was preceded in death by his parents, Teresa Vermellon and Davis Eusie McElroy; and three brothers, William, Edward, and Robert of California, and step son: William "Bill" Huey In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Church of the Way's fund for Bibles for Mississippi Prisoners, 7387 State Boulevard Ext., Meridian, MS 39305.
