Chuck Thompson Funeral services for Chuck Thompson will be held Saturday, November 22, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Reverend Harold C. White will officiate, with opening prayer by Reverend Danny Speed. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Chuck Thompson, 55, of Monroeville, AL, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014, in Atlanta, GA. Chuck was a graduate of Meridian High School and Mississippi State. He retired from International Paper after 32 years and was presently working for Georgia Pacific Paper Company as a controller. Chuck was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Hamasa Shrine, and attended First Methodist Church in Monroeville, AL. He enjoyed nothing more than being with his girls and coaching their softball teams, and taking them golfing and hunting. Chuck enjoyed fishing with his wife and had a passion for turkey hunting. He also loved traveling with his family and showing them the country. Chuck was always looking for a challenge and as he would say "If you're scared, say you're scared." Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Jan Buchanan Thompson, his daughters, Ashley Ann Thompson and Krista Leigh Thompson; his parents, Henry and Doris Thompson; brother, Paul Thompson and his wife, Rhonda; nephews Travis Thompson and his wife, Emily, Brent Thompson and his wife, Lacey, and their families; in-laws, Bubber and Miriam Buchanan; sisters-in-law, Mary Margaret Speed and husband, Danny, and Lou Ann Henson; other nieces and nephews Alice Speed, Marie Speed, Jessica Speed, Daniel Speed, Hailey Henson, and Caleb Henson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Douglas and Flossie Morse and Effie Whitman. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Together Enhancing Autism Awareness in Mississippi (TEAAM), P.O. Box 37, Mize, MS 39116. Pallbearers will be Paul Thompson, Travis Thompson, Brent Thompson, Daniel Speed, Caleb Henson, Mark Clark, Bart Williams, and Jonny Pool.
