Charles David Shelby

Funeral services for Mr. Charles David Shelby will be held Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Reverend Ben Jones officiating. Burial will be held at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Kewanee. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Shelby, age 57, of Toomsuba, Mississippi, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Shelby worked for twenty-nine years with Insight Health Care and also worked for many years for Johnson Farms and Three Sons Farm. He will be remembered as everybody’s uncle. He was very dedicated to his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Crystal Ripley (Michael) of Jamestown, Tennessee; son, John David Shelby of Toomsuba, Mississippi; grandchildren, Arissa Ripley, Dyson Ripley, Kenan Ripley, Elizabeth Ripley, and Asher Ripley; siblings, Joe Lee Shelby of Toomsuba, Mississippi, Richard Shelby (Cindy) of Toomsuba, Mississippi, Elizabeth Parker (Sonny) of Meridian, Mississippi; nieces and nephews, Melissa Carney (Jay) of Toomsuba, Mississippi, James Roger Shelby (Angela) of Lauderdale, Mississippi, Christina Brown (Othell) of Meehan, Mississippi, Ashley Simmons (Dusty) of Lauderdale, Mississippi; great-nephews, Elijah Brown, Isaiah Brown, Gabe Shelby, Dontae Shelby, Jacup Carney; great-nieces, Kristen Shelby, Ricquel Shelby, Tianna Shelby, Hannah Carney, and numerous other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shade Lee and Margaret Earline Shelby; siblings, John Shelby, Roger Shelby, Dot Ward, Eva Embry, and Mary Ward.

Pallbearers will be James Roger Shelby, Jeremy Bunyard, Gabe Shelby, Dontae Shelby, William Joiner, William Parker, Dennis Parker, and James Embry. Honorary pallbearers will be Dyson Ripley, Kenan Ripley, and Asher Ripley.
