Charles L. Harmon

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Harmon will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Dr. Raymon Leake and Bro. Don Gentry officiating. Burial will follow at Arkadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Harmon, age 86, passed away, December 6, 2017, at Brookdale.

Mr. Harmon belonged to the Longstreet 269 Masonic lodge; He was a thirty-third degree Mason. He was active for several years with the DeMoley. After serving for twenty years in the US Navy, he retired in 1971 as a Chief Petty Officer. Mr. Harmon attended First Baptist Church of Meridian.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years Blanche A. Harmon; three children, Laura Jane (Don) Shreffler; Charles D Harmon, and Ben T. Harmon; grandson, Justin (Kristin) Shreffler; great-granddaughter, Victoria Jane Shreffler; his sister, Elizabeth Ann Hite; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Iva Elizabeth and Clyde C Harmon; grandson, Donald J. Shreffler, III; brother-in-law, Carl E. Hite.

The family requests memorials be made to the Longstreet 269 Lodge and/or the Wounded Warrior Project.
