Charles Thomas "Tom" Junkins

Memorial services celebrating the life of Mr. Charles Thomas “Tom” Junkins will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Rick Chambers officiating. Inurnment, with military honors, will follow at 1:00 at the Mississippi Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Newton. The family will receive guests for visitation from 10:00 until 10:45 prior to the memorial service. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Junkins, 78, of Collinsville passed away on August 31, 2026 at his residence.

Tom was born on August 16, 1948 in West Virginia to the late Maurice Bernard and Miriam Elizabeth Rice Junkins. He enlisted in the United States Navy, honorably serving his beloved country. After his military retirement, he worked for many years as an Aviation Contract Employee on board NAS Meridian. On June 3, 1970, Tom married the love of his life, Susan Felicity Clark, and to their union, one son was born. Some of his titles included: Chief, Supervisor, Manager, Scoutmaster, Ashwanchi Kinta 193 Lodge advisor, Choctaw Area Council Executive Board member, Camp Binachi shooting sports director, and range safety officer; however, his greatest titles were “Dad” and “BoDaddy” as he was affectionately known by his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susan Clark Junkins; son, Joshua Michael Junkins (Deanna); grandchildren, Hunter Junkins (Morgan), Bethany Junkins (Seth), and Makensie Junkins (Mason); one great-grandchild, Walker Haze Smith; and numerous other family members and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Donald Clem and Gene Clem.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Anderson Regional Medical Center Cancer Center’s Benevolence Fund.

Honorary pallbearers will include his grandson, Hunter Junkins, Mason Turner, and Seth Smith; his nephews, Steve Clem, Joseph Clem, and Brian Clem; his friends, Tracy Waddell, Bronzon Miles, Kevin Henderson, Shannon Culpepper, Jeremy Harper, Scotty Sanderford, Will Branum, Jonathan Hamrick, Reza Baziari, and his Eagle Scouts.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Harper’s Hospice, Dr. Jennifer Eubanks, and Meridian Oncology Associates for their exceptional care.
