The family will receive guests from 10:00 until 10:45 in the sanctuary of Fellowship Baptist Church. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Charles Elmer Snodgrass, age 79, of Meridian, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 4, 1946, in Union, Mississippi, to the late Jesse Elmer and Audine Graham Snodgrass, Charles enjoyed the childhood of an Air Force family, living in various places until finally settling down on the “back forty” in the Center Hill community, north of Meridian.

After graduating from West Lauderdale High School in 1966. Charles went to work in retail with his dear uncle, Billy Sam Calvert. On April 7, 1968, he married the love of his life, Judith Lynn McWilliams, with whom he started a family.

Charles had a strong work ethic, and with Judy as a partner, in the 1970s his entrepreneurial spirit sparked a progression of businesses beginning with “The Old Dime Store” in Jackson and Grove Hill, AL. In 1981, Charles successfully ventured into the houseplant business, returning to Meridian to start Nature’s Best Nursery, along with several retail garden centers.

Above all worldly aspirations, Charles remained dedicated to church and family. He served as a deacon at Fellowship Baptist Church, and as a joyful mentor and playmate to his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Judith L. McWilliams Snodgrass; children, Charles E. Snodgrass (Michelle) and Patti Snodgrass Ranney (Russell); sister, Linda Joyce Munoz (Charles); grandchildren, Jillian “Jay” Boucher Snodgrass; Emily Jane Snodgrass, and William James Snodgrass; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
