Charles Gray Vaughn Services for Charles Gray Vaughn will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, with Reverends Ervin Moody, Jimmy Gerrard and Marvin Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Vaughn, 75 of Meridian, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at his residience. He lost his battle with cancer surrounded by his family and friends. He was retired and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Mr. Vaughn served in the U.S. Marines. He worked at Nelson Hall Chevrolet and the MS Wildlife Fisheries and Parks. He was involved with the Whynot Volunteer Fire Department and the Long Creek Water Association. Survivors include his wife Earline Neal Vaughn; daughters, MaryAnn Griffith and her husband Billy Wayne of Meridian, Teresa Vaughn of Houston, TX; three grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Francis Fleming and her husband Joe of Meridian, Linda Goodin of Potts Camp, MS, Faye George and her husband John of Moss Point, MS; multiple cousins, nieces and nephews; special friend, Carey Hollie. He was preceded in death by his sons, Charles Everette and Travis; parents Earl and Florene Vaughn; brothers, Glenn and Sammy Vaughn. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice Compassus Jennifer White. Pallbearers will be Billy Williams, Tommy Joe Butler, Willie Anthony, Richard H. Reynolds, Parker Shannon, Stanley Shannon. Honorary pallbearers will be the Game Wardens and Henry Yeager, Jr. The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
