Funeral services for Choxie Brown will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Central United Methodist Church with Reverend Dennis Gossett, Dr. Bob Rambo and The Rev. Morris Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Brown, age 80, of Meridian passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Diversicare of Meridian.

She was the former owner, with her husband, Joe, of Brown Printing Company. Choxie served diligently as a board member for over 20 years for the Meridian Little Theatre. She was involved in the Athena Literary Club and a member of Spendthrifters. Choxie loved playing bridge with her dear friends on Wednesdays. A former longtime member of Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church where she was the church treasurer and then Central United Methodist Church. Choxie was known for her love of life and loyalty to friends. We will be constantly reminded of her determination to beat cancer and yet knowing all along her reward be heaven. As her grandson said “she’s in the greatest place in the universe”.

She is survived by her son, Benjiman D. Brown; daughter, Paige Brooks and husband, Ashley; grandchildren, Anna Laurin and Laura Ashley Brown and Joseph Brooks; brother-in-law Bobby Sims, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dear family from Brown Printing Company and Aldersgate.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. “Joe” Brown; parents, John Robert and Lucy Davis; sister, Ouida Sims; and brother, Bill Davis.

The family request memorials be made to Aldersgate Retirement, Anderson Oncology Benevolence Fund, or Central United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Stacy Sims, Billy Bryan, Felix Bryan, CB Hales, David Hudson, Barry Lee, Alan Lewis, and Daniel Self.
