Christopher Haydn Powell Services for Christopher Haydn Powell will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 3:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Paul Raley officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Powell, 23, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 5, 2010 at Riley Hospital. He was a 2005 graduate of Chamberlin Hunt Christian Military Academy and boot camp at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Survivors include his parents, mother, Stephanie Carlise of Meridian; father, William Haydn "Rusty" Powell and his wife Joyce of Meridian; sister, Raley Powell Dearman and her husband Rob of Meridian; grandparents, William Dewayne Powell of Brandon; James and Freddie Raley of Lake Eddins; Ken and Wanda Kocina of Capatola, California; great-grandmothers, Ellen Smith of Pine Bluff Arkansas; Lois Moore of Lake Eddins; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives; and his pet shitzu, Ollie. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy Jean Powell. The family request memorials be made to the Meridian Police Department Benevolent Fund or Spring Hill United Methodist Church.
