Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Chris Upton will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with the Reverends Bro. Mark McFerren and Bro. Allen Shortridge officiating. Interment will follow at Center Ridge Cemetery in Lauderdale. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Upton, age 44, of Meridian passed away on November 5, 2026.

Chris was born on February 18, 1982 in Meridian, MS. He attended school at Pathway Christian Academy. He was employed with Norman Roofing. Chris was known for his kind and gentle spirit; he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed fishing and making potato guns. He loved his family and was a great uncle, son, brother, and friend.

Chris is survived by his son, Kristopher Ryland Rivera; his parents, Larry Upton, Sr and Deborah Shortridge (Denny); siblings, Larry Lewis Upton, Jr. (Ashley), Michael Upton, Daniel Upton; niece, Tayler Dobbins (Thomas "Tres"); nephews, Adam Upton (Jewul) and Blake Upton (Hannah); great-nephews, Sawyer Dobbins, Jamie Upton, Johnny Upton, and Lane Upton; grandmothers, Ruby Lewis and Brenda Sigler; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Earl Sigler; grandmother, Dorothy Ann Rutherford; step-grandfather, Sonny Lee Lewis, Jr.; and numerous other family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Chris's memory be made to the charity of your choice.

Pallbearers will be his Larry Upton, Michael Upton, Daniel Upton, Adam Upton, Anthony Johnson, Buster Bailey, and Austin Doyle.
