A celebration of life will be held Thursday, June, 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Carl White, Dr. David Hopkins and Philip Trest presiding. Ms. Clarice moved to Meridian in 1952 for her husband Kermit's new job. Her jobs consisted of being a salesclerk, bookkeeper, and she retired as Office Manager at Q101 Radio in 2000.

After the birth of her daughter, she was a stay-at-home mom for 14 years. She also was a seamstress, Sunday School Teacher, Dance Mom, Brownie Leader, Girl Scout Leader, Piano Mom, and a Band parent.

Clarice and Kermit went on many buying trips all over the US. They loved to travel. She loved collecting spoons and thimbles from her travels. She also loved teaching the youth group of Highland Baptist Church how to water ski.

She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and the Skyward Sunday School Class. In addition, she was a faithful member of the Sanctuary Choir until her health started declining. Her biggest joy was being a member of the HBC "Singing Christmas Tree" for 33 years, not missing a performance. That is 196 performances.

Clarice is survived by her daughter Charlotte of Meridian, sisters Jewel T. Rhea of College Station, TX, Carolyn T. Stewart of Carthage, and brother Lewis M. Trest of Carthage. In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends, the JoAnn Grantham family, Ann Wilhelm, and Janice Barousse. And let's not forget the fur babies Sophie and Sasha.

Preceding Clarice in death are her husband of 63 years and 8 days, Kermit, infant son Billy Glenn, her parents Henry G. and Clara M. Trest, and brother, Henry L. Trest.

The pallbearers are her nephews; Bryan Trest, Donnie Stewart and Philip Trest. Also, Steve Corey, Dale Glardon and Phil Jenkins.

The family would like to thank the staff at North Pointe Nursing Facility, the Telemetry nurses at Baptist Anderson, Gentiva Hospice, the staff at Accent Care, and her physicians for taking care of here at this time of her life.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Gideons International (The Meridian East Camp), the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or an organization of your choice.
