Clyde T. Welker, Sr. Services for Clyde T. Welker, Sr. will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2013 at 11:30 A.M. at Pleasant Hill UMC, with Brother Jim Rickles and Reverend Richard William officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill UMC with a Masonic Burial. Taps will be played by Tony Welker and Josh Landrum. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Welker, 92, of Meridian, died Friday, July 19, 2013 at Rush Hospital. He was born on January 1, 1921 to the late Joe and Delphia Welker, both of Needmore, TN. Mr. Welker was in the 8th Army Air Force. He served in the European Theater during WWII. Mr. Welker retired from Cincinnati Milicron after 42 years. During that time, with the help of several other men, they started the volunteer fire department and life squad which he served for 25 years. Mr. Welker was also chief of Police of the Village of Newtonsville. He worked as special Deputy Sheriff of Clermont County, OH for many years. He also served as council member for several years. Mr. Welker was a 32nd Degree Mason. He belonged to The Ohio Eastern Star. He is a member of Scottish Rite and Syrian Temple of Cincinnati, Ohio for 61 years. Mr. and Mrs. Welker were married on September 4, 1943. They met on a blind date at the Triangle Restaurant in Meridian. Three months later, they were married. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Specialty Hospital at Rush Hospital, especially, Dr. Jay Johnston. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Doris Pickard Welker of Meridian; daughter, Sue Welker of Meridian; son, Tom Welker, Jr. and his wife Sue of Fayetteville, OH; special daughter, Bea Heater of TN; grandchildren, Thumper, Olivia, Tony and Craig Welker; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Sophie and Jaxon; brother, Roy Welker of Newtonsville, OH; many nephews, nieces, cousins and four sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Ann; brothers, Deanie, George and Joe C. Welker. The family requests memorials be made to the Shiners Children's Hospital, "Donate2shc.org" or charity of choice. Pallbearers will be Tony Welker, Craig Welker, Josh Landrum, Wayne Pickard, Wayne Johnson, Arnold Ray Enzor. Honorary pallbearers are Raymond A.
