Services celebrating the life of Mr. Curtis L. Ray will begin at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Oak Hill Baptist Church with the Reverends Mike Russell and Dr. Calvin Price officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Ray, 78, of Meridian, died Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Curtis was a retired law enforcement officer with the Mississippi Public Service Commission with a career spanning over 36 years. He was a faithful member of Oak Hill Baptist Church for over 53 years. He was a car enthusiast of all makes and models. Above all, his favorite hobby was spending time with his grandchildren and attending all their activities.
Mr. Ray is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Datha Horn Ray; their daughter, Amy Tilghman (Chad); son-in-law Greg Wooten; grandchildren, Chase Tilghman, Nate Tilghman, and McKinley Wooten, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mr. Curtis is preceded in death by his parents Claitor and Maybell Ray; his daughter, Pam Wooten; his sister, Bobby Jo Ray.
The Ray Family suggests memorials be made as donations to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
