D. Steven McCartney Memorial services for Steven McCartney will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jason Dyess officiating. Mr. McCartney, age 55, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Regency Hospital. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and his master's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Steve was the director of the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library for 25 years and served on the Crime Stoppers Board. He was an avid University of North Carolina "Tarheel" Basketball fan. GO HEELS!!! Survivors include his wife, Sandra McCartney; son, Don McCartney; parents, Donald and Bennie McCartney; sister, Stacy Holifield (Tony); nephews, Maverick Johnson and Ramble Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Barbara Shaw. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library, 2517 7th Street, Meridian, MS 39301.
