Ms. Winstead, age 72, of Meridian, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Rush Foundation Hospital with her family by her side.
Margaret was a Christian by faith and shared her love for God with all. She enjoyed many hobbies, such as making jewelry and quilting. She was a LPN for 13 years and returned to school becoming a RN in 1991. She nursed another 13 years as a RN with all of her nursing career at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, William “Sonny” Winstead; daughter, Kellie Stafford and husband, Billy; son, Christopher Winstead and wife, Summer; grandchildren, Brooke Winstead, Nealey Stafford, Brookilin Stafford, and Kasen Abel Winstead, due April 2016; great granddaughter, Addyson; brothers, Martin Watkins (Johnnie) and Johnny Watkins (Ilene); sister-in-law, Jewel Brown; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and her beloved and spoiled dog, Scooter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Rosa Lee Watkins; infant sister, Sandra Ann; brother, Arnold Watkins; brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Peggy Baucum; and granddaughter, Sara Grace Stafford.
Pallbearers will be Arnold Ray Enzor, Randy Rawson, Skeeter Dial, Shon McBrayer, Robbie Strickland, and Chris Athey. Honorary pallbearers will be Doctors Shea Allen, Chris Swift, Martin Senitko, Otis Gowdy, John Voss, Kevin Ward, and Peter Scalise.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of CCU and 6 North for the loving, selfless care given during her illness, along with thanks to Dr. Melissa Campbell, Dr. Jennifer Rodriguez, Dr. Rafique Ahmad, and Bonnie Early.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 13, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
