Daniel Holland, president and owner of Clearspan Components, Inc. in Meridian, died suddenly at his home in Daleville January 17, 2024 the day before his 62nd birthday.  A man of deep faith, gentle humor, and an easy-going nature, Dan reveled most of all in his beloved family.

He was born to David and Barbara (Cornatzer) Holland January 18, 1962 in Del Norte Colorado. He grew up on a potato farm near Hooper, Co. and attended K-12 at Sangre de Cristo Schools where he excelled at both athletics and academics and graduated in 1980. While growing up, he went with his family to the First Baptist Church of Hooper where he came to know Jesus Christ as his Savior.

After high school, Dan pursued a college degree at LeTourneau University in Longview TX. completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1984. He met the love of his life Lisa McRae while working for AT&T in Shreveport, LA. They were married in October of 1986 in Daleville, MS. and became a quiet bedrock of the Daleville and Meridian communities. He was a Rotarian, belonged to the Mississippi Council of the Navy League, served as President of the Board of Lamar School, was on the Board of the Mississippi Industrial Heritage Museum, and was a faithful member of Bailey Presbyterian Church.

Countless people will cherish their memory of Dan’s unassuming kindness. Never one to seek the limelight, he was the first to seek to help. Dan was deeply loved, well-respected, and will be missed beyond measure.

He is survived by his wife Lisa; son James David Holland (Amanda) and their children Weyland, Woodrow and Marcie Danielle of Daleville, MS; and son John Thomas Holland (Iro) and their sons Leonidas and Alexander of Lookout Mountain, GA. He is also survived by his father-in-law Jim McRae of Daleville, MS., parents David and Babara Holland of Hooper, CO., brothers Darryl (Sandi) Holland of Hooper, CO., Dale (Debi) Holland of Colorado Springs, CO., and sister Karen (Jeff) Copley of Hooper, CO., as well as many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.

Daniel is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Joann McRae.

Pallbearers will be from among Dan’s nephews and Brothers in-law .
