Memorial services for Danny Donald will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Fellowship Baptist Church in Meridian, Mississippi. Brother Mike Boles will officiate. All are welcome to join the family in a celebration of his life. Danny "Dano" Donald, age 61, departed this world on Thursday, October 9, 2015, at his home in Marion, Mississippi. Danny was born on June 22, 1954, at Anderson's Infirmary in Meridian, Mississippi, to E.B. and Bernice (Hudson) Donald. He will be remembered as a beloved musician, father, and brother, who spent his life bringing laughter and music to those around him. Raised in a musical household, Danny grew up singing with his brothers and sister to the tune of their dad's harmonica. Danny was asked to play the drums in a school program in sixth grade and his love of performing music took flight. Danny was a talented singer, drummer, guitarist and songwriter, and began playing music professionally at sixteen years old. He continued to perform throughout his life with local bands in Meridian, such as The Scott McQuaig Band, The Whodaddys, Mississippi Express, Kabana, and many others. Danny performed professionally with several world famous recording artists, but his true passion was playing the blues in his hometown. Danny was known for his kind heart, charismatic smile, and his genuine love for others. He was never happier than when he was surrounded by family, and those of us left behind can only imagine the joyous reunion with his parents and our Lord in Heaven. Danny was a member of Evangel Temple Church in Meridian, Mississippi, and had recently rededicated his life to Jesus Christ. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:25 He is survived by his daughters, Brittany Chancellor and her husband, Jeffery, and Megan Smith; grandchildren, Avery Chancellor, Anna Kate Chancellor, and Ryder Ricks; siblings, Billy Donald and his wife, Mary, Jeanette Williams and her husband, Jimmy, and Jimmy Donald and his wife, Belinda; he's also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, E.B. and Bernice Hudson Donald. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in his honor to local charities such as Aslane's Mission, Hope Village for Children, or The Wesley House.
