Funeral services for Mr. Darrell “Doc” Scarbrough will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Bro. Wade Phillips officiating.  Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Darrell “Doc” Scarbrough, age 67, of Meridian, Mississippi passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.

Mr. Scarbrough was born December 3, 1951 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late Leslie and Ouida Scarbrough.  “Doc” retired from Riley Memorial / Anderson Regional Medical Center where he served as the Director of Respiratory Therapy.  He also worked for a number of years with the Meridian Fire Department.  “Doc” had a warm personality and would often be seen with a smile on his face.  He possessed a positive outlook, made people feel good, and shared from his heart with whomever was in need.  He was a loving husband, father, and Poppy.

“Doc” is survived by his wife of nearly fifty years, Kathy Scarbrough; his children, Shea Vick (Frankie Watkins), Shannon Alexander, and Shelley Hale (Matt); his grandchildren, Karlee Fagan (Wesley), Parker Vick, Wayne “B.B.” Grant (Ashley), Victoria Grant, Kathryn Grant, Ella Grace Hale, and Millie Hale; a great-grandchild, Evelyn Lila Grant; and his brother, David Scarbrough.

Mr. Scarbrough was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Danny Joe Scarbrough.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Jennifer Eubanks, the staff of Meridian Oncology, and Quality Hospice.

Memorial contributions may be shared with the American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the funeral home.
