David Hayes Mitchell

Funeral services for David Hayes Mitchell will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at The Episcopal Church of the Mediator, with The Reverend Morris Thompson and Dr. Bob Rambo officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.

Mr. Mitchell, age 25, of Meridian, passed away May 11, 2017 in Corinth, MS.

Hayes was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Madison, MS, Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison, MS, and The Episcopal Church of the Mediator in Meridian, MS. He loved being outdoors, especially if he was hunting or fishing. Hayes played soccer, football, and baseball at Meridian High School, where he graduated in 2009. To know Hayes was to love him. He was as kind to strangers as he was to his own family. He was blessed to be involved in missions in Haiti and also worked with local missions while at Broadmoor Baptist Church.

Hayes is survived by his parents, Guy and Allison White, of Ridgeland, and Bilbo and Brenda Mitchell, of Meridian; brother, B.B. Mitchell and his wife, Alli, of Jackson, MS; brother, Hyde White and sister, Mary Gray White, both of Ridgeland, MS; step-sister, Meridith Ward and her husband, Steven; step-brother, Tyler Higgs of Farmington, AR; grandparents, Darryl and Mary Frances Hurt, of Lucedale, MS, Julia Claire Mitchell, of Meridian, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Neel White of Clarksdale, MS . He is also survived by many loved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bilbo Mitchell, Sr.
