David L. Holden Mr. Holden, age 64, of Meridian, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at Rush Foundation Hospital. David served 25 years in the United States Navy as a musician and linguist and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of VFW Post 12124 in Meridian, MS and also a member of VFW Post 2370 in Franklin, WV. He was a graduate of Grace Davis High School and was a former musician at the Modesto Symphony in Modesto, CA. He was an avid hunter, archer, and outdoorsman. David was an instrumentalist at his church, Naval Security Group Activity Chapel in Sugar Grove, WV for 14 years. He was also a black belt karate instructor and photographer. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Beth A. Holden of Meridian; daughter, Katherine A. Adkins and husband, Alan of Monks Corner, S.C.; son, Sean D. Holden and wife, Julie Lippman of Bunker Hill, WV, and Erik R. Holden of Meridian, MS; grandchildren, Zachary C. Adkins and Karrington A. Adkins; step-grandchildren, Steven Lippman, Christopher Lippman, and Robert Lippman, Jr.; and cousin, Patricia L. Hanney-Robinson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Barry J. Holden; and parents, Dolly Jean and Howard S. Holden. Memorial services for David L. Holden will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at NAS Meridian Chapel with interment at Arlington National Cemetery Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
