Funeral services for David Sanford McCraw will be held Monday, April 28, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Dan Lanier officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. McCraw, 54, of Meridian passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a graduate of the 1977 class of Meridian High School. He worked as a plumber and he worked with World of Flowers. Sanford played recreation softball and basketball. He also coached youth basketball and baseball and he volunteered with Special Olympics. Sanford also loved his Harley and he enjoyed going to the beach. . He loved to cook for his children and grandchildren and will be remembered as an awesome loving dad and granddad. Sanford knew his bible from the front to back.

Survivors include his wife, Suzie McCraw of Meridian; sons, Tyler McCraw and wife Donielle "Bitty" of Enterprise and John David McCraw of Meridian; grandchildren, Mason and Ty Majer McCraw; mother, Ruth McCraw of Meridian; sister, Gina Laughlin and husband Carl of Meridian; sister-in-law, Michelle Bracken of Meridian; nephews, Don Bracken, and Elliot Laughlin; nieces, Tiffany Evans, and husband, Dustin, and Emily Gilbert and husband, Tom; great-nieces, Carley Gilbert, Amelia Claire Bracken, and Josi Bracken; great-nephews, Wes Laughlin and Cameron Evans and aunt, Mary Lou McLemore.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.W. McCraw; brother, Bill McCraw and brother-in-law, Don Bracken.

The family requests memorials be made to the Special Olympics, c/o MIDD Meridian, 1405 College Drive, Meridian, MS 39307.

Pallbearers will be Don Bracken, Dustin Evans, Carl Laughlin, Drake McKenzie, Lee Littrell, and Ben Shirley. Honorary pallbearers will be Corey Blackwell, Rick Lewis, Bubba Bratu and Brad Norton.
