David I. McIlwain, Jr. Services for David I. McIlwain, Jr. will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11:00 at New Hope Baptist Church with Reverends James Gibson and Michael Perry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. McIlwain, 69, of Meridian, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law. Survivors include his son, Chris McIlwain and his wife Dee of Meridian; daughter, Stephanie Ivey and her husband Josh of Meridian; grandchildren, Paige and Myranda McIlwain, Taylor and Emily Ivey; brother, Wiley McIlwain of Texas; sister, Mary Sue Hazlewood and her husband Mike of Memphis, TN; sister-in-laws, Frances Thornhill of Meridian and Janice Taylor of Meridian; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Taylor McIlwain; parents, David and Myram McIlwain; brother- in-laws, Priestly Taylor and Toby Thornhill; loving in-laws, Jewel and Lamar Taylor.
