David L. Weir Sr.

A graveside service for Mr. David L. Weir, Sr. will be held at noon on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Stonewall Cemetery with Mrs. Vicky Gilbert officiating. The family will receive friends at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the graveside service. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. David L. Weir, Sr., age 76, of Meridian, went to his heavenly home on Monday, July 27, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

David was born in Meridian on July 12, 1950 to the late Ollie and Bertha Weir. David was a hard-working husband, father, and grandfather who dedicated his life to loving the Lord and providing for his family. His family will remember him for being full of life, a warrior, and having a great sense of humor, full of laughter. A caring person, David loved people and ministered to them in his role as a pastor. He worked for many years as a loan officer and also as a security guard. David enjoyed taking trips, hunting, fishing, and playing music. His pride and joy in life was taking care of and loving his wife of 44 years, Sharon.

Mr. Weir is survived by his wife, Sharon Weir; his children, Vicky Gilbert (Joe), David Weir, Jr. (Lisa), Terasa Parker (Chet), Jennifer Deason, Derek Weir (Vanessa), Roy Weir (Wendi), and Shannon Mowdy (Derek); his grandchildren, Alice, Tonya, Josh, Tyler, Payton, Kiptin, Matthew, Courtney, Sam, Kyle, Ashley, Lacey; and his great-grandchildren, Ella, Piper, Justin, Braelyn, Aurora, Nancy, Ethan, Landon, Ty, Bo, Waylon, Stevie, Hunter, McKenzie, Connor, Joannie, and Astrid. He is also survived by his brother, Otis Weir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie May and Bertha Weir; his sisters, Margie Crocker and Barbara Maxey; and his brothers, O.W. Weir, William Franklin Weir, Leon Weir, and Marvin Weir.
