Delores Vonciel Williams

Funeral services for Mrs. Delores Vonciel Williams will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Bro. Wade Ricks officiating. Burial will follow at Stonewall Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Williams, age 73, of Collinsville, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 surrounded by her family at the Bee Hive Homes of Marion.

Mrs. Williams was born in Stonewall, Mississippi to the late Wesley and Dot Fagan on February 7, 1945.  She was a graduate of Mattie Hersee Nursing School and later earned her master’s degree of Nursing from Mississippi University for Women.  Her career began as an instructor at Mattie Hersee and Meridian Junior College.  Her nursing career lead her to eventually become one of the first Nurse Practitioners in the state of Mississippi, serving the communities of Newton and Collinsville.  She married the love of her life, Joe Williams, on May 22, 1971.  Together they raised two children and were blessed to have three amazing grandchildren that became the center of their worlds.  Some of the family’s most fond memories include the many Saturdays spent at the Grove in Oxford watching Ole Miss football.  An active member of First Baptist Church Collinsville, the foundation of her love for other people was rooted in her faith in Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her children, Sandy Stedman (Robert) and Joey Williams (Karen); her grandchildren, Hayden Williams, Jack Stedman, and Ashlan Williams; her brother, James Fagan (Teresa); her brother-in-law, Perry Williams (Judy); her sister-in-law, Patsy Riley (Van); and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Williams; her in-laws, Joe and Bertha Williams; and her siblings, Shelby Burris and Tommy Fagan.
