Dental Ray Shelton

Graveside services with military honors for Mr. Ray Shelton will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026 at the Mississippi Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS. The family will receive guests from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Shelton, age 91, of Meridian passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Poplar Springs Nursing Center.

Ray was born on October 12, 1934 in Vernon, Alabama to the late Henry Clifton and Gracie Nichols Shelton. After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the United States Army, honorably serving his country during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, he worked for many years as a truck driver.

He is survived by his children, Danny Ray Shelton (Robin), Billy Shelton, and Randy Shelton (Alicia); six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Shelton; and one sister, Birdie Shelton Land.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Poplar Springs Nursing Center for their exceptional care. They would also like to thank Harper's Hospice Care for their care during his last days.
