Derina Anthony Usher

Private Graveside service for DeRina Anthony Usher will be held Monday, May 4, 2020, at Mount Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Hutchison officiating, burial to follow. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Usher, age 74, of Meridian passed away Friday, May 1, 2020, at her home surrounded by family and friends.

DeRina will be remembered as a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver to family and friends. She loved God, her family and her church and was always giving of her countless talents to them.

DeRina was a longtime member of Mount Horeb Baptist Church where she served in many roles including Church secretary. She worked countless hours behind the scenes at the church never seeking recognition. She lovingly served all those with whom she came in contact, including family, friends, church staff and members and her community.

DeRina enjoyed working in her yard, doing home improvement projects, watching college sports and playing golf. She was the 2018 Mississippi Golf Association’s Women’s Senior Amateur Grand Lady Medalist.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Leslie Usher, sons; Michael Usher (Peggi) and Doug Usher, grandson; Alex Usher, brother; Glenn Anthony (Rose), sister Kay Parker and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Marcille Gilmore and Kirby Anthony.
