Devon “Vec” Williams
Funeral services for Mr. Devon Williams will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God of Meridian, with Pastors Bob Null, Jimmy Reed, and David Chandler officiating. Burial will be held at Sand Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Hickory. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Williams, 71, of Meridian went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2019 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Williams served as a Gideon for many years. Along with serving as a Gideon, he also served on the City of Meridian Electrical Board. He was a faithful, long-time member and deacon of First Assembly of God of Meridian, where he served in various positions including Treasurer, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School Coordinator, and Children’s Church leader. Mr. Williams greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, but he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball.
After serving his country in the United States Marine Corps, he became an entrepreneur, establishing a number of businesses.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Williams; children, Robby Kidd (Sandra) and Jay Williams (Misti); grandchildren, Jeremy, Tyler, Jordan, Jake, and Luke; and one brother, Ottis Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gideons International, so that the Word of God can be spread throughout the world.

Pallbearers will be the deacons of First Assembly of God of Meridian.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 from 1:30 p.m. until service time at First Assembly of God of Meridian.
