Docia Annette Yarbrough Funeral services for Annette Yarbrough will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Marion, with Reverend Drew Dabbs officiating. A graveside service will be on Monday at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi at 2:30 p.m. with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Yarbrough, 93, of Marion passed away on September 3, 2014, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Yarbrough was born on January 1, 1921 in Heidelberg, Mississippi to George and Nina Smith. She graduated from Gardinar High School in Laurel and Copiah Lincoln Junior College in Wesson, Mississippi. In 1942, she married N.B. Yarbrough, her husband of over fifty years. After N.B. retired from the Marine Corps, they settled in Meridian where she held several secretarial positions. The highlight of her working career was the fifteen years she spent as church secretary at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church. After retirement, she and N.B. traveled extensively. They enjoyed catching standby military flights to places in the United State and Europe. She was a member of First Baptist Church Marion where she was committed to her church family and her WMU Group. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters. Survivors include her son, Hal Yarbrough and wife, Judy of Enterprise, Alabama; daughter, Kathie Anderson and husband, Rod of Inlet Beach, Florida and son, Neil Yarbrough and wife, Mitzi of Eufaula, Alabama; ten grandchildren, Scott Barham and wife, Karen, Kyle Barham and wife, Marlene, Trenton and Davis Yarbrough, Leslie Hearndon and husband, Matt, Brent, Matt and Molly Anderson, and Miles and Emma Yarbrough; three great-grandchildren, Chris and Hannah Barham, and Claire Hearndon; sisters, Elizabeth Matthews and Martha Jo Hayes and brother, Lewis Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband N.B. Yarbrough, and daughter, Day Williamson of Franklin, North Carolina. The family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Marion Building Fund.
