A funeral service for Donald M. Chapman will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. The visitation will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Donald Mitchell Chapman, age 75, of Pearl, MS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at St. Dominic Hospital.
Donald was a devoted husband, father, and faithful servant to his community, remembered for a life defined by hard work, courage, and dedication. At a young age, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the U.S. Army through the Mississippi National Guard, where he served honorably for six years. His passion for helping others led him to serve as a firefighter, courageously protecting his community in times of danger and need.
Following his years of public service, Donald worked as a sheet rock construction worker, where he earned a reputation for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic. He later moved his family from Meridian to Richland and became a small business owner of Advertising Visuals alongside his beloved wife, Clara. Together, they successfully operated their family business for over 40 years, building not only a livelihood but a legacy of partnership and dedication.
Donald treasured his family above all else. He was deeply proud of his children and loved spending time with his growing family. His steady presence, kind heart, and unwavering love will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Franklin Chapman Sr. and Capitola Pierce Warren Chapman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Clara Ann Chapman of 55 years, his children, Jennifer (Richard) Henderson , Donald (Vickie) Chapman Jr., and Dee (Robbert II) Summerlin; as well as his grandchildren, Keri Runnels, Trey (Jordan) Henderson, Lauren (Brian)Hill, Cassidy (Jake) Thompson , Briley Summerlin, Avery Summerlin, Kayla (Domenic)DePersia, Mallory Chapman, Mason Chapman, Carson Chapman, Carly Chapman, Kylie Sandifer, Harper Henderson, Gage Berry, and Jonah Berry, two(2) brothers, Clarence W. (Jane) Chapman, Ray B. (Tracy) Chapman along with nieces and nephew that loved to come and hang out with their Uncle Donnie, and many dear friends.
Pallbearers will be family and close friends.
