Services for Donald "Don" Hartness, Sr. will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Frank Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hartness, 71 of Meridian, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 in Brandon, MS. He was retired from the Garment Business after working there for over thirty years. He graduated from Rogers High School in 1956 in Newport, RI and Mississippi State University in 1964. Mr. Hartness was employed as the Vice President of Manufacturing at Nazareth Knitting Mill in Quitman, MS. Survivors include children, Don Hartness Jr. of Brandon, MS, Michael Hartness of Manassas, VA, and Susan Brantley of Woodbury, MN, grandchildren, Don Hartness the third, of Clinton, MS, Hunter Hartness of Clinton, MS, Joseph Hartness of Brandon, MS, step grand-son, Jeremy Watkins, and Shannon Hartness of Myrtle Beach, SC, and sister, Barbra Clark of Grand Prairie, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann B. Hartness. Pallbearers will be Don Hartness III, Hunter Hartness, Tim Donaldson, Dennis Hall, Don Herbert, and Gene Thompkins. There will be no visitation.
