Doris C. "Carol" Irby

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris C. “Carol” Irby will begin at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at West Kemper Baptist Church with the Reverend Tommy Jones officiating with Reverend James Hutchinson providing service music. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to being entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Irby, 77, of DeKalb, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Carol was a devout member of West Kemper Baptist Church and she fiercely loved her church and pastor. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing in her spare time making many clothes for her children through the years. Carol loved her home and community of Kemper county.

Carol is survived by her husband of over 45 years, Tom Irby, Sr.; sons, Tommy Irby (Nikki) and John Irby (Erica), Mike Mardis, Mark Mardis, and David Mardis (Michelle). Fourteen Grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One sister, Donna Dooly, as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Mrs. Irby is preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Loftin; parents James Lovett and Dorothy Dooly and one grandson Christopher Mardis.

The family suggest memorials be made as donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.

Pallbearers will be Rev. Bob Null, Todd Null, John Null, Ted George, and Carlton Lafferty. Honorary Pallbearers will be Zack Winstead, Dewayne “Junior” Darnell, Mickey Vick, and John McFarland.
