Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Miller Sims will be Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 2:30 P.M. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Sims, age 98, of Merdian, Mississippi passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at her residence. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her family meant everything to her. God's love truly shown through her in the way that she loved her family unconditionally. Mrs. Doris was truly an inspiration to everyone. Always encouraging and caring, she was a ray of sunshine everywhere she went. She was a fabulous cook, seamstress, decorator and a people person who was always hosting events. She always had a way of making everyone feel like family. She was a longtime member of Northcrest Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Billy Wayne Sims (Becky); Kathy Wright (David); Patty Rickles (Rick); grandchildren; John Wayne Sims (Alisha) Kristy Pope; Angie Partridge (Sean); Sha Long (Dale); Casey Rickles (Ashley); Stetson Rickles; Peyton Sims (Kacie); Ashley Wright; great grandchildren, Ethan Sims; Vincent Long; Raylee Long; Preston Sims; Noah Bridges; siblings, Glenn Miller; Earl Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edsel Sims; son, Ronnie Sims; grandsons, Stacy Sims and Robert Bridges; and five siblings, Clyde Miller; Annie Mae McClelland; Eugenia Lowe; Nita Brown; and M.L. Miller.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to LaShaunda McCurty of Deaconness Home Health; sitters, Lynn Wright and Michelle Goforth; the nurses of Accent Hospice, Kristen Parker, Crystal Cole; and Rani Bunkley; Dr. Chris Swift and Dr. Eric Parker; and the 4th Floor North Nursing Staff at Ochsner Rush for their compassionate love and care.
Also, special love and appreciation is extended to Mary Jean Pierce and Kim Benton for their loving kindness, encouragement and support.

Pallbearers will be Peyton Sims, Dale Long, John Sims, Casey Rickles, Stetson Rickles, David Miller, and Tim Miller.
