Funeral services for Doris will be held Monday, October 19, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Wesley Methodist Church, 1500 8th Ave., with Reverends Pam Randall and Paul Raley officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am prior to service at the church. There will be a private committal ceremony at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Williams, 85, passed away Wednesday, October 14, at Anderson Hospital. Doris was a lifelong resident of Meridian and lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She was employed for many years with Doctors Lindley and Jones and retired from Anderson Hospital where she worked in the lab. Doris had a great love of music and played the piano beautifully. She was a true social butterfly that never met a stranger, and she enjoyed hearing people's stories. Doris will be remembered for her witty sense of humor, her kindness and generosity, and her amazing potato salad, as well as her famous peanut butter fudge cake. Survivors include her daughter, Ann Robinson and her husband, Rodney, and son, John Michael Williams and his wife, Vicki; grandchildren, Candle Burgess, Jeremy McCarty and his wife, Jessica, Joshua McCarty and his wife, Kate, and Jacob Williams; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Haven, Stella, Gabe, Hunter, Weston, and Mize; and special niece, Grace Robb, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, John Wyatt Williams. Pallbearers will be Jeremy McCarty, Joshua McCarty, Rodney Robinson, Larry Johnson, Charlie Joiner, and Charles Moore.
