Ms. Dorothy Mae Crimm, age 88, of Meridian, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Dorothy was born September 11, 1937, in Newport, Mississippi, an unincorporated community in Attala County that she fondly described as "a muddy spot in the road." She was born in a small house set in the middle ofa cotton field. Although her birthplace was Newport, her birth was officially recorded in Sallis, Mississippi, where the nearest post office was located. She was the daughter of Duff Austin Warrell and Jesse Estelle (Boyd) Warrell.

Dorothy graduated from Newton High School in Newton, Mississippi, in May of 1955. Later that year, on December 28, 1955, she married Clarence Prentiss Crimm while he was home on leave from the United States Navy. Their two oldest children, Ron and Roger were born in Maine, while Clarence was in the Air Force. Robert, the youngest, was born in Newton, Mississippi.

Dorothy's life was centered on family, faith, and hard work. She started work as a waitress at 14 years old and worked her whole life in and outside her home. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved being a mother and grandmother; her children and grandchildren have fond memories of her playing and spending time with them.

She is survived by her sons, Roger Crimm (Katherine) and Robert Crimm (Andrea); grandchildren, April Bateman (Andrew), Melanie Brown (Tony), Ryan Crimm (Stephanie), Allison Hansen (Kevin), Jonathan Crimm (Abby), Jared Crimm, and Abby Crimm; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Ronald "Ron" Crimm; her parents, Austin and Estelle Warrell; and her siblings, Lewis Warrell, Virginia Ray, and Whitman Warrell.
