Graveside service for Dorothy "Dot" Corley Slayton will be held Thursday, August 16, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Roy Dabbs officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Slayton, 82, of Meridian died Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Regency Hospital. She was owner and manager of the Torch Restaurant, Red Hot Restaurant and Magnolia Restaurant. Mrs. Slayton was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church. She was a lifetime member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband of forty years, James E. Slayton, of Meridian; step-children, Darlene Gay and husband, Andy, of Lake; Vicki Kurszewski and husband, Jim, of Meridian; twin sister, Doris Renfrow and husband, Herman, of Meridian; brother, Rudolph Corley and wife, Nancy, of Meridian; sister, Jaynell Anderson of Meridian; brother, Jimmy Williams and wife, Nila, of Meehan Community; ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and special pet, Nicole. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertie Mae Williams, and brother, Mason Ralph Corley. The family requests memorials be made to the church of your choice. Pallbearers will be Jerry Corley, Wesley Stewart, Lance Robinson, Andy Anderson, Wayne Raley, David Burns, Stan Sanders and Wayne Adams.
