Memorial services for Dorothy “Dot” Staron will be held at noon on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Bird officiating.  Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Dorothy Staron, age 79, of Meridian, Mississippi passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019.

Mrs. Staron was born in Meridian on January 28, 1940 to the late Cleve and Maude Nelson.  Dorothy was a retired licensed practical nurse, a career that she loved dearly and made many friends throughout her career.  Dot enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing.  She was a long-time member of Midway Baptist Church and loved her church family.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Cindy Sessions, and her grandson, Tyler Sessions, as well as her brothers, Robert Nelson and Greg Nelson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Staron; her son, Robert Sessions; her grandson, Eric Sessions; her brother, Joe Sam Nelson; and an infant child, Hobie Sessions.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be shared with Midway Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
