Ms. Dorothy Vick, 89, of Meridian, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at her residence with family at her side. Dorothy was saved as a child, baptized in the lake at Camp Binachi, and became a member of Hebron Baptist Church. By age 9, she was a piano student without a piano, who practiced her lessons on the edge of the kitchen table. She became a talented pianist who loved people and always made an effort to keep harmony in the world.

Dorothy graduated Vimville High School, Class of 1954, and was the longest-living female of her class. Following graduation, she furthered her education at Mid-South Business School in Meridian then worked for Dixie Highway Express. She retired from East Mississippi Electric Power Association (EMEPA) following 23 years of service.

She was a faithful member of and pianist for Emmanual Baptist Church for over 30 years until the church closed. Dot then became a long-time dedicated member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, where she served in the nursery and in the women's ministry. In the last few years of her life, as her health allowed, she enjoyed worshiping with fellow believers at Church of the Way.

Ms. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Denise McKinion (Kevin); grandchildren, Curtis McKinion (Jennifer) and Emily Herman; great-grandsons, John Curtis, Will, and Parker McKinion, and special friends Bobby Rutledge and Amanda Combs.
