Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Jean Douthitt will begin at 3:00 Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Maust officiating. Interment will follow at Beason Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Douthitt, age 72, of Meridian, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving mama and mammaw. She was a wonderful cook for family and friends. She was devoted to her family which she loved with a fierce love. She was known for her spunky spirit.

She is survived by her children, Dewayne Todd and Shannon McGarity. Grandchildren, Phoenix McGarity, Brian Todd and Bobby Todd; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lindley L. “Rusty” Douthitt; her parents, Shorty and Maxine Waddell; sisters, Stella Beason, Linda Keller, Brenda Clark, and June Marie Irvin. Brothers, Hubert Lee Waddell, and Donald Wayne Waddell.

Pallbearers will be Mack McLemore, Tracy Waddell, Eric Waddell, and Chris Wansley.

The family request memorials be made to Jubilee Mennonite Church in lieu of flowers.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until service time at the funeral home.
