Funeral services for Dorothy Claire Dveirin will be held Friday, January 27, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.at Temple Beth Israel, with burial following at Reform Jewish Cemetery. Visitation from 9:30a.m.-11:00a.m. service on Friday, January 27, 2017, at Temple Beth Israel.

Dorothy, beloved wife of the late Alfred “Buddy” Dveirin, mother of the late Janice Dveirin, passed away January 24, 2017.

Survived by her son, Jack Dveirin, and Diane Brewton of New Orleans, LA; niece, Jayne Mindlin Chase of West Palm Beach, FL, and many friends and beloved neighbors.

Dorothy was born in Birmingham and graduated from Ramsey High School in 1948.  She met Buddy in 1951 on a blind date.  She moved to Meridian as his bride in 1952 and they were married 51 years.  They raised 2 children and she was active in their PTA, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.  She was Secretary at Temple Beth Israel, President of Temple Beth Israel Sisterhood, and Treasurer of Sisterhood.  She worked at Flowers Unlimited from 1976 until her 2004 retirement.
