Dorothy Jean Moore Services for Dorothy Jean Moore will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Blair officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. On Saturday, November 26, 2011, Dorothy Jean (Jones) Moore, 83, a resident of Meridian, went to be with her Lord. Dorothy was born on July 1, 1928, in Meridian, to Homer and Jessie Jones and was one of two children. Mrs. Moore was raised in Meridian and graduated from Meridian High School. On January 1, 1948 she married Robert Leslie Moore. She was a member and patron of Meridian Chapter No. 11 Order of the Eastern Star and served as Grand Electa of the Grand Chapter O.E.S. Mrs. Moore worked briefly for South Central Bell before coming home to be a housewife and mother to her two sons, Leslie and Jim. She was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church. She is survived by her two sons Leslie Moore, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Utica and Jim Moore and his wife Tracy of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Dana Bivings and her husband Kevin of Loranger, Louisiana, Chris Moore and his wife Jennifer of Hattiesburg, Casey Moore and his wife Courtney of Brandon and Courtney and Connor Moore both of Houston, Texas; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a nephew Jeff Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie; parents Homer and Jessie Jones and her brother Wayne Jones.
