Dorothy Torgerson

Graveside services for Dorothy Torgerson will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Dorothy Torgerson passed away at the age of 94 on January 1, 2017 at Brookdale Memory Care in Kenner, Louisiana.

Dorothy was a long time resident of Meridian and served on the Meridian Little Theater Board of Directors and the Guild Board. She organized and led the yearly Guild rummage sale fundraiser and was chair of the inaugural board of the Meridian Retiree Recruitment Commission.

Dorothy is survived by children, Larry (Tjwanna) Torgerson, of Meridian, and Barbara (Robert) McCord, of New Orleans, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Matthew (Stacey) Torgerson, of Louisville, Kentucky, Drew Torgerson of Meridian, Dorothy McCord of Lexington, Kentucky and Elizabeth McCord of Atlanta, Georgia and two great-grandchildren, Irie Ikler and Orrin Torgerson, both of Louisville, Kentucky.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Stan Torgerson and grandchild, Tyler Torgerson.

Visitation will be held at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home on Friday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
