Services celebrating the life of Dr. Gary Alan Bickford will begin at 11:30 AM, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Bethany Church in Quitman, MS with Reverend Glenn Lafferty officiating. Inurnment will follow graveside rites at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Dr. Bickford, 75, of Meridian, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.
Pastor Gary Bickford was a remarkable man, his impact on those around him was immeasurable. As a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, pastor, friend, and counselor, he touched countless lives with his boundless compassion and love. Pastor Gary has a unique gift for making everyone feel valued and cherished; he wore many hats with grace and humility, becoming a true hero to many. He had an extraordinary heart and unwavering capacity to love unconditionally. Pastor Gary never met a stranger, his warmth and kindness, left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Now he rest, peacefully in the embrace of Jesus, where he finds eternal solace. To know Gary was to love him, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Until we meet again, may you rest high on that mountain, Gary. Your legacy of love and kindness will live on in our hearts.
Pastor Gary is survived by his wife, of 29 years, Susan Bickford; children LeTrecia Mathis (Kenny), Teri Fulwider, Gary Alan Bickford, Jr., Shaun Bickford (Marissa), and Stephen Bickford. 13 Grandchildren, Six great-grandchildren; siblings, Roy Bickford and Joy Bickford; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Dr. Bickford is preceded in death by his parents, Holly Bickford and Betty Whitehead; his grandson, Dale Michael; son-in-law, Brandon Fulwider; and his brothers, Dale Bickford and Larry Bickford.
